Shift Happens: Experiencing the Crustquake!
There are a few things to know about
crustquakes. The first thing to know is that crustquakes are all
GOOD and VERY GOOD. A crustquake represents our inner voice saying:
STOP! ENOUGH ALREADY, I’M SO DONE WITH THIS CRUST!
The second thing
to know about crustquakes is that we are at choice as to what
we think and express. The crustquake is the good news. It destroys
what is not true about us.
Crustquakes occur
as a result of repeated reminders or “triggers” of experiences
and emotions that helped create the negative belief in the first
place. A trigger can be an event, specific comment, specific experience,
action by another person, some sight or sound, sudden jolt of
a past memory, the smell of fresh bread or the sound of someone's
voice.
Consciously and unconsciously we record what has been said and
what we have come to believe. In Crusty's case he had a pretty
good list before he began Crust Busting. Here are some beliefs
that he has busted through: I'm stupid; I can't fix it; I have
no choice; I'm insignificant;I'm boring; I don't know; I can't
understand; I'm afraid; I'm vulnerable; I don't fit in; I'm ugly;
I'm fat. I bet there are a few of your personal favorites that
you can add.
Crustquakes wake
us up and give us an opportunity to create positive change in
our lives!
Crustquakes
can be explosive or mild and subtly.
For some individuals,
experiencing a crustquake is a gentle, integrated process which
develops as a natural consequence of many years filling up with
positive energy, slowly making it impossible for crust to exist.
For example, to experience a subtle shift-- try this experiment:
Sit in a comfortable chair, hold your hand out, and watch your
fingernails grow. That's about the average speed of a crust chunk
shifting as a result of a mild crustquake. For these individuals
the awareness process is that of putting a hand on top of a flame
to feel the warmth.
